In young children, symptoms include:

In infants under 6 months, RSV may also cause:
- Irritability
- Decreased activity
- Apnea (pauses in breathing)
If you or someone you know experiences severe symptoms, such as:
- Difficulty breathing
- Chest pain
- Worsening conditions
Seek medical attention immediately.
For those at higher risk, consult your doctor about ways to protect yourself and whether the RSV vaccine is right for you.
